SANDALWOOD NUT CO2 EXTRACTED OIL
Features & Applications
Australian Sandalwood Oil—often known as West Australian Sandalwood—has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and perfumery. The nut oil contains valuable protein isolates that lend themselves to a wide range of product applications.
Sandalwood Nut Oil is particularly effective for dry, ageing‑prone skin, helping to increase moisture levels and support healthy sebaceous function. It is naturally rich in Ximenynic acid, a rare bioactive compound that helps protect the skin from lines and wrinkles while promoting healthy circulation for a more radiant appearance.
With notable anti-inflammatory properties, its Ximenynic acid content also helps slow the breakdown of hyaluronic acid and collagen. This supports and strengthens the extracellular matrix (ECM), improving skin elasticity and contributing to a firmer, smoother look.
Habitat & Harvesting
Australian Sandalwood Trees begin producing nuts from around five years of age, providing a sustainable source of nutrient-rich kernels used for oil extraction.
Extraction Process
Various extraction methods—steam distillation, solvent extraction, cold pressing, and supercritical CO₂ extraction—have been explored for Sandalwood Nuts. Due to the waxy composition of the kernels, supercritical CO₂ extraction has proven to be the cleanest and most efficient method. This process yields a pure, stable oil with excellent longevity, a clear golden hue, and a naturally mild scent.
