Carrier Oils

A carrier oil is a natural, plant‑based oil used to dilute essential oils before they are applied to the skin. Essential oils are highly concentrated and powerful on their own, so mixing them with a carrier oil helps make them safe to use while allowing them to be spread easily and absorbed evenly.

Carrier oils are typically cold‑pressed from nuts, seeds, or fruits and have little to no aroma of their own. In addition to carrying essential oils, they provide their own skin‑nourishing benefits such as hydration, softness, and protection of the skin’s natural barrier.

Common carrier oils include sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and argan oil, each chosen for its unique texture and skincare properties. Carrier oils are widely used in aromatherapy, massage, skincare, and natural beauty formulations.
